Introduction
Electricity today is part of our livelihood, to ensure the safe and secure operations of the electrical equipment, instruments and machines. Electric shock hazards are minimized by the effective grounding or earthing system. The alternating current (AC) system is a complex entity whereby it has distinctive characteristics. Power factor, apparent power, active power and reactive power are components of the AC system. Circuit breakers are protection devices installed at all levels of electrical circuits. The precise operation of these devices are of great importance so as to avoid catastrophic arc flashes or flash overs.
Objectives
- Understand the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity
- Develop electrical safety awareness
- Analyse the importance of earthing system
- Understand causes of electrical faults and protective devices
- Determine the components of an electrical final sub circuit
By the end of this Electrical Power Systems for Non-Engineers training course, you will be able to:
Training Methodology
During the training course, the participants will benefit from a range of effective teaching methods. Each training section will commence with an introduction to the topic, followed by an overview of the critical technical concepts. The training course will encompass the use of PowerPoint presentations, videos, illustrations, practical case studies, and interactive exercises. To conclude each section, a collective conversation and Q&A moment will take place.
Who Should Attend?
The Electrical Power Systems for Non-Engineers training course will benefit the non-electrical engineers, technicians and supervisors on the operations of an electrical plant.
