Introduction
OSHA's hearing conservation program is designed to protect workers with significant occupational noise exposures from hearing impairment even if they are subject to such noise exposures over their entire working lifetimes. This course summarizes the required components of OSHA's hearing conservation program for the general industry. It covers monitoring, audiometric testing, hearing protectors, training, and recordkeeping requirements.
Objectives
This course summarizes the required components of OSHA’s hearing conservation program for the general industry. It covers monitoring, audiometric testing, hearing protectors, training, and recordkeeping requirements.
Training Methodology
This is an interactive course. There will be open question and answer sessions, regular group exercises and activities, videos, case studies, and presentations on best practice. Participants will have the opportunity to share with the facilitator and other participants on what works well and not so well for them, as well as work on issues from their own organizations. The online course is conducted online using MS-Teams/ClickMeeting.
Who Should Attend?
According to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.95(k) regulations, employers must provide training to their workers who are exposed to noise level more than 8 hours a day and above 85 decibels limit. These people must get systematic training on yearly basis to prevent hearing loss and other related health problems. It is mandatory for employers to arrange annual training programs and ensure workers’ participation.
