Safety Leadership and Safety Culture

Introduction

In recent years, there has been an increasing recognition in high reliability industries of the importance of the cultural and behavioral aspects of safety management. While many, have concluded that organizational factors Such as perceived management commitments to safety are important, few to date have demonstrated effective intervention strategies. There is therefore a need to explore the supervisors’ role as a safety Leader in safety management and safety culture improvement programs. The safety culture of an organization is the Product of individual and group values, attitudes, competencies, and patterns of Behavior that determine the commitment to, and the style and proficiency of, an organization’s health and safety programs”.

Objectives

    The objective of this course is to build a safety culture in any organization where safety is important that recognize that All Personnel must be safety leaders Organizations with a positive safety culture are characterized by communications founded on mutual trust, by shared perceptions of the importance of safety, and by confidence in the efficacy of preventative measures.

Training Methodology

The training methodology is interactive with group exercises and is suitable for all employees involved in functions management. The pace and level of the training workshop is customized to the understanding of the delegates. Ongoing back-up and support is available after the training on request to the supplier, and the training course is also available for in-house presentation as well as for “Competency Transfer”.
